چکیده
Bringing touch into VR experiences through haptics is considered increasingly important for user engagement and fostering feelings of presence immersion, yet few qualitative studies have explored users' iVR experiences. This paper takes an embodied approach–bringing attention to the tactile-kinaesthetic body–to explore wholistic in iVR, moving beyond cutaneous tactile elements “feeling” elaborate upon themes movement kinetics. Our findings show how both connections disconnections emerged though material forms tactility (the controller, body positioning, expectations) “felt proximities” experience thus shaping sense presence. The analysis shows three key factors that influence connection disconnection, re-navigated or sought at moments experienced disconnection: a control agency; identity; bridging between virtual. extended notion deepens our understanding its role by providing insight range related notions – physical virtual–that come play creating (e.g., histories, expectations), highlights potential interaction attend hands terms touch.

Embodied and disembodied cognition: spatial perspective-taking.
Although people can take spatial perspectives different from their own, it is widely assumed that egocentric perspectives are natural and have primacy. Two studies asked respondents to describe the spatial relations between two objects on a table in photographed scenes; in some versions, a person sitting behind the objects was either looking at or reaching for one of the objects. The mere prese...
متن کاملThe embodied nature of spatial perspective taking: embodied transformation versus sensorimotor interference.
Humans are able to mentally adopt the spatial perspective of others and understand the world from their point of view. We propose that spatial perspective taking (SPT) could have developed from the physical alignment of perspectives. This would support the notion that others have put forward claiming that SPT is an embodied cognitive process. We investigated this issue by contrasting several ac...
متن کاملInducing User ' s Perspective Taking from an Embodied Agent by Filling in a Blank Thought Balloon
Attempting to take the perspective of others often provides people with novel cues for discovering and solving problems. However, human cognitive limitations and differences in individual attitudes make this difficult. In this study, a psychological experiment was conducted to examine how blank thought balloons emitted from an embodied agent encourages a user to change hislher perspective. Part...
